Have you seen the new "Lil Dick...y" video, it's trash. Yeah, that's right you read it. Lil Dicky and a "Walking Dead" Chris Brown piece together this hilariously tired body switch theme video "Freaky Friday". Now some may say "Prince why do you care if you are not feeling the video?" It is simple, the video is trash and I am tired of Lil Dicky being forced into my viewing space online. It is like Lil Dicky is lowkey on his version of Justin Beiber's "Take a picture with a Black Rapper Tour". I personally am really exhausted of this post-Pepsi generation rap. Kylie Jenner's name has basically replaced the Melissa Ford's to a lot of so-called "Hip-hop" listeners. Let us be honest these twitter warriors are not into hip-hop. These people are just into generic social media personalities who happen to rap. I'm sure Kylie Jenner would get a verse from Lil Dicky if she dropped a mixtape tomorrow. Of course, let me make the "AllLivesMatter" disclaimer. My dislike of Lil Dicky is not because of he is white. My disinterest in Lil Dicky is because he is an unfunny white rapper playing off racial comedic tropes that were not funny even in the 70's. Simply put Lil Dicky is boring. If you were to close your eyes and listen you would swear Lil Dicky and Asher Roth were the same rappers. It would appear that the "industry", cue Illuminati X-Files music, is hell-bent on forcing Lil Dicky and his Van Wilder-ish personality down the public's throat. So about this "Freaky Friday" video. Basically, this video is just a light skin "Black Like Me" I mean all that was needed was for John Howard Griffin's corpse to pop up out of the ground like an "All lives matter" Thriller Zombie. At the beginning of the "Freaky Friday" video, we find Lil Dicky struggling to accept the truth and that is he is a parody of a rapper, a bad white rapper. And in his depression after coming across a fan who casually belittles Lil Dicky, he gazes up at a TV screen and wishes to be in the light black face via Chris Brown. Then we see a self-loathing Chris Brown, in a typical misunderstood rich nigga fashion, longing to be "understood" And with the help of a magical Asian waiter Lil Dicky and Chris Brown body switch Disney style. Chris Brown opens the song up immediately from the perspective of being controlled by Lil Dicky from the sunken place. For the most part of Brown's verse, he sings the not so deep thoughts of a Lil Dicky being excited about having a Black dick. The thing about this scenario is that it works for neither artist. This video panders to a sector of rap listeners who argue who is better Katy Perry or Taylor Swift. Chris Brown has been on a trash tour of features as of late. Lil Dicky for whatever reason appears to be the struggle "it" white man in rap. Of course, there is a place for Lil Dicky in hip-hop next to a burning dumpster, I'm joking. Lil Dicky has been able to find his little fringe audience online which is fine, but the industry power players apparently want Lil Dicky to be as big as Drake. When an artist like Lil Dicky is forced on the general public is their subculture of choice people like me tend to share our unpopular opinions. I feel that there are rappers who are funnier than Lil Dicky. A few rappers who have pulled off the comedic rapper schtick better Redman, Missy Elliot, Ludacris, Aesop Rock, Danny Brown, Devin the Dude hell even an early "Mr. Moon Crikets" Slim Shady. The fact that Lil Dicky is playing off of the "uncool awkwardly cool" white boy in rap is past due like my student loans. Somebody get Malibu's Most Wanted outta here Sandman style. Rating? 0 out of 5 -Prince I have to co-sign Prince's commentary, it was a generic video that many millennials will find humorous because it has the same tropes that are already constantly feed in Hip Hop. Lil Dicky is a desperate so called rapper, that tries to find cheap jokes/ways to engage with his audience or to convince others to have interests in him. While Chris Brown is a fallen king of R&B and POP that went for the light-skinned Bobby Brown imagery, because he couldn't make it in the Disney trope no longer due to his 2009 domestic violence case that Snapchat recently did a distasteful advertisement on. If you like the video cool, but this is our break-down as to why this is wack. The song itself is not enjoyable, but I'm sure will be replayed enough for some to feel that it is a banger. Lil Dicky's gimmicks just do not have enough steam in the engine for me. PASS. Rating? 0 out of 5 -Sincere Checkout Prince and I commentary in the video above. Creators: Art and Article
